Today my gratitude cup runneth over. And I am especially grateful that I am getting in the habit of looking for my gratitudes throughout the day because right now I am actually feeling a little tired and "blah" and unsure of what to do with myself and if I hadn't already been thinking about all the things I am grateful for I might be feeling a little down. But instead I'm feeling grateful that I have some downtime right now to write out my gratitudes early today!
I am so grateful for our new home today and our yard. Today I mowed the lawn which I love to do for many reasons - I am outside, it is time to myself, I am moving, but mostly because I have so many fond memories of mowing the lawn (and golf course!) growing up. I am grateful for the music of the Wailin' Jennys which is the current "soundtrack" of my life. I am grateful for my iPhone and earbuds so I could listen to music while I cut the grass - just like the old days.
I am grateful for a fenced back yard so our furry baby can go outside when she wants to and bury her bones in the dirt.
I am grateful for our screened porch which, my mother will be happy to hear, we've been using a lot more lately. I did yoga out there the other day and this morning I tried to "meditate" for 5 minutes or so out there. Right after I snapped the picture of Yoshi looking outside (above) I closed my eyes again and the next minute she came up to kiss me on the lips. Mmm! She also startled me with quite a loud hacking noise - I didn't know that it would be so difficult to try meditating with just her around! (Gerry was still snoozing on the couch as he fell back asleep on me this morning, and Marisol was at the neighbor's house.) Too funny - adventures in meditating with your puppy around.
And I'm extremely grateful for our neighborhood. Today two women put on an ice cream social for anyone who wanted to come! In fact Marisol is still there running around with her friends.
Like I said, my cup runneth over. Thank you Life for so much love and beauty.

Yoshi licking me while meditating me reminded me of a video I watched once with pets and people doing Yoga. I found a bunch and this one is cute.
